Webpage optimisation and search engine optimisation (SEO)...
We believe that building good, accessible websites is the most important part of any optimisation project. However, if you want to raise your profile via search engines then certain other tasks need to be taken into consideration:
- Keyword research should be undertaken to identify the actual keywords and phrases you want people to find your site under.
- Competitor analysis should be carried out to see which phrases are being used successfully by your competitors and which keywords are being overused and are therefore difficult to compete against.
- Pages should be optimised so that keywords appear in the relevant parts of the HTML file that makes up each webpage and that the keyword density is at the correct level.
- Developing inbound links from other sites has a great bearing on your sites perceived "importance" in Google and other search engines.
- Sites should be manually submitted to search engines where possible.
It is still important to consider other methods of driving traffic to your site. Advertising on the web, either via paid listings in search engines or paid links on other sites can be essential to drive traffic to a site. We can help set a budget for this and can manage your advertising campaigns. Depending on your product, you should still also consider advertising in other media (magazines, press, radio etc).
As part of the optimisation process, we also make pages comply with web and accessibility standards wherever possible. For much more on this please see our accessibility pages.
